Dr. Anju Namashivaya is a Consultant in Fetal Medicine at Sakra World Hospital. She completed her undergraduate medical training from Bangalore Medical College. She then moved to UK and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and obtained MRCOG from Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She trained in Bangalore Fetal Medicine Centre in Fetal Medicine and is accredited by the Fetal Medicine Foundation (UK) for specialized fetal scans and risk assessment protocols She performs early pregnancy scan, NT scan, Anomaly scan, Growth scan and Doppler study. She is also trained in performing invasive procedures and 3D-4D scans when clinically indicated. She conducts regular prenatal screening clinic and performs Diagnostic invasive procedures like Amniocentesis, Chorionic villus sampling, Fetal blood sampling etc. She conducts annual health camp for Kanara Welfare Trust. The role of the trust is to carry out and promote the educational, cultural, social and material advancement of the people, particularly of the backward and poorer classes. She is a part of the MRCOG Part 2 course conducted by the Bangalore RCOG trust. She has keen interest in training nurses and support staff on the labour ward and has implemented Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) protocols in the maternity units she has worked. She believes in equality and standards in healthcare. She is passionate about building the unit by teamwork and unbiased structured training. Her areas of interest are protocol based imaging, empathetic patient counseling, training and research.
